We would like to take this opportunity to the people of Ukraine, who had been fighting with great self-sacrifice in the past few weeks for more freedom and democracy, to express our gratitude! We also hope that this country, which undoubtedly belongs to Europe, will in the near future find the way into the European Union. Thank you, Ukraine!

1) Щойно сам виносив пораненого, на власні очі бачив, що рани від вогнепалу, ніяка це не гума;

Following deaths in Kyiv, two round-the-clock pickets have started in London: one outside of the Ukrainian Embassy, and another outside the flat of Yanukovych’s richest backer, Rinat Akhmetov. At 7 pm today there will be a rally outside of Akhmetov’s flat at One Hyde Park.

Another protest is planned today at 4 pm outside of the British Parliament. It will be followed by a memorial service for those who gave their lives in the fight against the regime, at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral on Duke St at 6.15 pm.

On Sunday 23 February, at 3 pm, a protest is planned outside Downing Street.

Rinat Akhmetov has already made a statement distancing himself from the murders of at least 20 protesters, including one journalist. At least seven policemen sent by the regime against the people also lost their lives.

Mr Akhmetov’s PR people are calling their influential contacts around the world assuring them he had nothing to do with murder.

He may indeed have lost his influence over his former protégée (Boris Berezovsky made a similar mistake).

Yet Rinat Akhmetov’s TV channel, Ukraina, continues broadcasting lies in support of the regime. If you condemn murder, Mr Akhmetov, stop backing the murderers.
