ROMANIA Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Press release of today (Update): Russian Federation’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin

ROMANIA
Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Press release of today :

Type:
Press release

Date:
05/10/14
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken note with surprise that today, May 10th, 2014 the Russian Federation’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin tweeted that “Upon US request, Romania has closed its airspace for my plane. Ukraine doesn't allow me to pass through again. Next time I'll fly on board TU-160.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs feels that a Russian Deputy Prime Minister threatening to use a strategic bomber is a very serious threat in the current regional context where the Russian Federation has violated Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and separatist forces are committing grave violations of public order in the neighboring state.

In this context the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requests that the authorities in Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry, provide public clarification whether the statements quoted from Deputy Prime Minister Rogozin are the official position of the Russian Federation with regard to Romania as a Member State of the EU and NATO.

At the same time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds that Romania has unequivocally supported the sanctions regime instated by the European Union with respect to actions that undermine or threaten Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence.

Background:
Under Article 1(1) in Decision 2014/145/PESC concerning restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, “Member States shall take the necessary measures to prevent the entry into, or transit through, their territories of the natural persons responsible for actions which undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, and of natural persons associated with them, as listed in the Annex” (our emphasis); the Appendix contains a list of the persons under sanctions.
The Russian Federation’s Deputy Prime Minister, Dmitri Rogozin, is listed in the Appendix containing the persons under sanctions.

"Upon the US request Romania has closed its air space for my plane. Ukraine doesn't allow me to pass through again. Next time I'll fly on board TU-160"

"Well, Sirs from Romania, we'll soon explain it all to you - who you are and what we think of you"

 Commentaries :

. Dimitry stays there, Transnistria is good, you can fishing and live like in the Soviet Union.

Would love to hear answer to this as well. It would not be unprecedented however (remember Morales' plane incident?).

Next time your plane will be shot down by NATO forces, don't you dare come back you Russian garbage!

It's our aerial space, Rogozin. is not territory and we give permit who we want. This is independence.

yep lead by example. He can perhaps reach Moscow even on very low orbit, so quite small trampline will suffice.

Romanians know who they are, you Russians don't know WHO YOU ARE - mongoloid BARBARIAN bastards! Okay? Stay in Russia gulag!

Romanians don't give a shit what you think. Nor does anyone else.
