Dear Friends and Supporters,
This
is a most perilous time in the history of Ukraine. Dozens of ordinary
civilians, including journalists and women, have been killed, and
thousands have been seriously injured. Many require urgent medical
treatment including neurosurgery, restoration of eyesight, and treatment
of burns, broken limbs and other grievous bodily injuries. Kyiv’s
hospitals are overstretched and are unable to provide full treatment to
all those who need help, whilst most people cannot afford to pay
privately.
Ukraine
Charity, a UK registered charity, has set up a special Crisis Relief
Fund designed specifically to address this need and separate from its
other charitable efforts. Your help for the people affected in Ukraine
would be most appreciated.
Donations are accepted through a JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/UkrCrisisRelief. Please be sure to tick the Gift Aid option if you pay taxes in the United Kingdom.
The
funds raised are being used for necessary medical treatment and
medications under the International Renaissance Foundation Humanitarian
Solidarity Project (http://www.irf.ua/en/knowledgebase/news/humanitarian_solidarity/).
Most
of the funds raised have been transferred to Ukraine and helped the
individuals and civic initiatives lited under "updates" below.
The programme is ongoing and remaining transfers will be made on an
ongoing basis.
Please
donate generously and share the link with everyone you know. It is not
only important for us to help but also to engage the international
community in the relief efforts.
Thank you!
